Premier Christian Radio September 27, 2024

On the 27th of September 2024, at Premier Christian Radio, 1 More London Place, APPG FoRB director Julie Jones joined a panel of professionals in speaking about challenges to FoRB in workplace contexts as well as opportunities for positive change. Julie Jones noted that many people of some faith or none do not know their rights when it comes to discussing or displaying religion in the workplace. She remarked on the the positive power of people of some faith or none speaking out for the rights of others – especially those whose personal persuasions they do not share – who seek to appropriately exhibit their religious beliefs in the workplace, noting that this can be even more powerful than when people stand up to defend their own faith or belief groups. Indeed, FoRB is a common cause for many diverse groups and we are more effective when we work together and seek to help each other as much as ourselves. Finally, Julie served as the closing speaker of the panel and concluded the discussion with a powerful call to action for attendees and listeners to express their views about FoRB in the workplace to their respective Member of Parliament (MP). As she said, MPs are called to represent their constituents, and when constituents make their voice heard about the importance of FoRB, the importance of FoRB in the eyes of MPs will correspondingly increase.
